“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! I have engraved you on the palms of My hands” (NIV, Isaiah 49:15-16)…
I want you to try something with me for a moment. Place your palms face up before you. Now, take a minute or two and thoroughly study the intricacies and fine details of every single indentation, imprint and wrinkle. Consider the many wonders and works your hands have experienced and accomplished over the years.
Although we don’t always notice it or appreciate their value, our hands are ever before us as we constantly rely on them for countless tasks each day. In fact, I would venture to say that if 100 or even 1,000 pictures were taken of both your hands and others, you would be able to quickly identify them with full confidence.
And yet the Bible tells us that God loves you so much that your name – your entire being – has literally been engraved on the palms of His hands. The very same hands that crafted you, all of creation, and then endured the most unthinkable death imaginable to save us have you written all over them. And because of that, He is with you always–in every pain, struggle, shed tear and victory.
You are never out of His sight, thoughts, or plans. God will never leave you or forsake you. He will never forget you. He is absolutely captivated by you and deeply desires an intimate relationship with you. You are forever before God as His treasured possession, beloved child and wonderful masterpiece. God loves you deeply.
